Poor weather rains on Instore’s parade

The recent poor weather keeps shoppers at home.

Total group sales in the 19 weeks to 7 July increased by 4.1%, with like-for-like sales also increasing by 4.1%. “Although our sales performance in the early weeks of the year benefited from the favourable spring weather, particularly over the Easter period, recent trading conditions have been much more challenging,” said new chief executive Peter Burdon.
