Play Golf installs customer monitoring system in its stores

Play Golf has invested in a customer monitoring system that counts the number of people coming into its shops.

Supplied by SG Systems, the system includes overhead CCTV cameras, which track people’s movements, while customer activity monitoring system units detect, count and record entries and exits.

The system will help Play Golf to discover how long people spend in its stores and how often the stores are visited. It will also help to test the effectiveness of new displays, compare one display with another, evaluate new store layouts, monitor queuing times and track people around the store.

Group marketing manager for Play Golf, Kate Palmer, commented: “The system we have had put in has given us the opportunity to measure customer flow in and out of the centre at certain times of the day.  This in turn has enabled us to project levels of staffing for the centre along with determining our quietest times for promotions.”
