Plans approved for Woking’s Victoria Square
Planning approval has been granted for the development of Victoria Square, a mixed-use retail-led development on lands to the west of the Wolsey Place shopping centre in Woking.
Members of the planning committee voted unanimously to approve the plans to create 125,000 square feet of new retail floor space which is to be anchored by Marks & Spencer.
The plans also include a 190 bed four star hotel with conference facilities, a spa and gym in a 21 storey tower, 392 residential apartments, space for a medical centre, and 380 additional car parking spaces and two new public plazas.
Victoria Square will be delivered by Bandstand Square Developments, a joint venture between Peacocks shopping centre owner Moyallen, Wolsey Place owner Woking Borough Council, and Surrey County Council.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Peter Robinson, managing director of Moyallen, said: “We are delighted to be given approval to our application and we will now press ahead with resolving the detail of the various legal agreements that need to be concluded before the formal approval can be issued.
“It has taken a lot of work to get to this point and on behalf of my joint venture partners I would like to thank all those that have contributed to the recent success.”
