Pizza1889 opens debut pop-up store
Pizza1889 has opened a debut pop-up store at the Nugent Shopping Park in Orpington which it claims is the first of its kind in an out-of-town retail location.
Operating from a specially designed shipping container with a state-of-the-art six foot stone oven that is capable of cooking pizzas in less than a minute, Pizza1889 will also offer artisan patisserie and ciabatta sandwiches in addition to Italian coffee and ice cream.
The 300 sq ft bespoke container was placed in a matter of minutes and is situated in a central position at the British Land operated retail park. Pizza1889 will be offering a takeaway service in addition to seated dining within the unit.
Pizza1889 co-founder Richard Sweet said: “Our aim is to provide the highest quality handmade pizza using traditional techniques. We want to deliver this in an exciting and complementary way, as you will see with the bespoke container and our products there really is nothing like Pizza1889.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Edward Cree, senior asset manager for British Land, added: “Pizza1889 is the latest concept to have launched its debut operation with British Land. This exciting new pop-up provides an authentic, artisan product as a quick snack option, adding to our customers’ experience and enjoyment. We hope to expand the offer across the portfolio.”
