Pirc fires salvo at Sports Direct

Pirc is the shareholder group that advises local authority pension funds.

Pirc has sent an alert to its clients advising them to vote against Sports Direct’s remuneration report, to withhold approval for the annual report and accounts and to abstain on the votes for the re-election of three of the executive directors.
Pirc said”With 57pc of the company owned by founder and executive deputy chairman Mike Ashley, the company does not have to worry about a shareholder voting upset,”.
