Phones 4U to sell BT Broadband
Mobile retailer extends telecoms alliance
August 27 2003
Phones 4U is to sell BT Broadband in its 338 UK high street stores across the UK.
The latest deal between the mobile phone retailer and the UK’s biggest telecoms provider will enable customers to sign up to BT Broadband in-store and leave with all the equipment needed to get online. Phones 4U staff will be available to give installation advice to customers, and explain the benefits of broadband.
The move follows the recent introduction of BT Home Communication Products at Phones 4U and the successful launch of BT Home Networking products into PC World outlets. BT plans to expand sales of new BT products through retail chains further.
Michael Johnson, CEO home communications and high street distribution for BT Consumer said: “This partnership with Phones 4U underlines BT’s commitment to developing relationships with third party channels to build the portfolio of new wave BT products and services that are available through retail outlets.”
Anthony Catterson, managing director of Phones 4U said: “Teaming up with BT reinforces our commitment to providing the latest products and services to our customers at the best value. The delivery of this partnership makes BT and phones 4U much stronger forces in a highly competitive technology-led marketplace and taking the lead on broadband products will be extremely beneficial for both parties.”
