Philips beauty store opens doors to the future
Consumer electronics company Philips is celebrating the success of its first pop-up beauty store which opened its doors in Amsterdam in December.
The temporary Philips Beauty Store offered visitors personal skin analyses, expert hairstyling tips and first-hand trials of the latest generation beauty tools which were also available to buy.
Four weeks after opening and thousands of visitors later, Philips has said it is considering rolling out the concept to cities such as Paris, New York, Seoul and Buenos Aires despite having no plans to become a permanent retailer.
Caroline Clarke, chief executive of Philips Personal Care, explained: “We have no ambition to be a permanent retailer, but we definitely see great value in this type of face-to-face contact with a variety of women. And the feedback we received on our products, the expert advice and the overall experience was very encouraging to explore more initiatives like this. Also because we generated invaluable learnings that will benefit our collaborations with retailers around the world.”
