Pets at Home upgrades full-year outlook

Pets at Home has upgraded its full-year outlook after seeing “high-teens” group like-for-like sales growth in December.

Giving an update on third quarter trading, the retailer said the strong sales momentum seen in its second quarter had continued into the third despite the challenging trading environment brought about by Covid-19.

Pets at Home now expects its full-year underlying pre-tax profit to be at least £77 million , which is ahead of  previous guidance.

The retailer said: “While renewed Covid-related restrictions on a national level may constrain trade, we remain an “essential” retailer and the measures we continue to take across our stores, veterinary practices and online operations are ensuring we remain in a strong position to meet all of our customers’ pet care needs.”
