PEP&CO to create 500 jobs and confirms first 50 store locations
PEP&CO, the new family fashion store founded by former Asda chief executive Andy Bond, has announced plans to create over 500 jobs across England, Wales and Scotland by the end of August. The company has also confirmed some of the first locations for its 50 stores.
In addition to the store manager and sales associate positions, there will be 40 roles at PEP&CO’s new central co-rdination centre in Watford, Hertfordshire.
With the first 50 stores launching over an eight week period, the debut store will open in Kettering at the beginning of July. Other confirmed locations include Bristol, Burton-on-Trent, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port, Boscombe, Eastleigh, Corby, Kettering, Hemel Hempstead, Maidstone, Redditch, West Bromwich, Yardley, Hull and Warminster.
Bond said: “Over the past few years, we Brits have been falling back in love with our high streets by shopping in smaller locations at stores offering real value. My ambition is that PEP&CO will be the first true town centre fashion value store, able to build on the example of new value food and general merchandise retailers.”
A further 40 roles will be created by its distribution partner Clipper Logistics in Swadlincote in South Derbyshire. The firm has won the contract to provide warehousing, returns management and other logistics services to the stores.
