Group’s performance driven by an increasing fashion focus and refurbishment programme. ladieswear ranges continue to achieve growth strengthening the value retailers market position.

For the 13 weeks to 2 July 2005 total sales were 10.2 per cent against 13.6 per cent same period last year, lfl sales were 2.8 per cent against 4.6per cent and lfl gross profit was 5.7 per cent

Commenting on the performance Gavin Simonds, Chairman, said: ‘Unlike last year, we did not have the benefit of Easter falling in our first quarter.
