Peacock Group ends offer talks

No takeover for retail group
Peacock Group has ended talks over a potential takeover just a day after it confirmed there had been an approach.

The operator of the Peacocks, Bonmarche and fragrance shop chains said that “the very preliminary discussions that had taken place regarding a possible indicative and conditional offer for Peacock have now ceased.”
There had been speculation that Peacocks management had approached the board about a potential buyout, backed by a private equity firm.
