Patisserie Valerie expands into London stations

Retail bakery chain Patisserie Valerie has opened a further seven sites in a number of central London train stations as the company pursues its expansion strategy.

The new stores, all former Paul outlets, include  two stores in St Pancras station as well as sites in Euston, Marylebone, Paddington, Victoria and Waterloo.

Paul May, chief executive of Patisserie Valerie, said: “The inclusion of these new takeaway stores in seven prime locations in London is a significant development for us as a company, as it will see thousands of visitors who are not familiar with the Patisserie Valerie brand now being introduced to the fantastic, freshly made products on display at our stores, on a daily basis.”

The seven new openings take the total number of Patisserie Valerie sites to over 100. The company has increased its locations by over 50% in the last two years.

May continued: “The last 12 months has seen some significant achievements for us, including our first openings in Scotland, inclusion on the Sunday Times Profit and Fast Track lists and now our 100th store.” 

“Incredibly, despite being in a time of economic crisis, we have continued to bring investment and new jobs to the UK’s high streets and reaching this milestone is a brilliant achievement.” 

Following a Risk Capital Partners backed management buyout in 2006, Patisserie Holdings has seen sales grow from an annualised £7.1 million in 2007 to £49.5 million in the year to 30 September 2012.
