Paperchase to supply Target in the US

Greeting card and stationery retailer Paperchase is to supply products to US retail giant Target.

The move will enable Paperchase to make a return to the US market after sales of its products in the country were halted following the collapse of Borders, its former parent company.

Target operates 1,800 US stores.

Timothy Melgund, chief executive and part owner of Paperchase, told Mail Online: “When Borders collapsed, we left behind a lot of customers in the US and we always said we wanted to go back there.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

“Then Target came along and we fit with their strategy of working with like-minded companies that can add that little bit of difference.”

Paperchase is also opening two stores in Galeries Lafayette in Paris this month and plans to have 95 stores in the UK by the end of the year.

Melgrund added: “We have now emerged from the Borders legacy and, despite the widely accepted challenging retail market, Paperchase is performing well.”
