Paddy Power appoints non-exec director

Paddy Power has appointed Gary McGann as a non-executive director and member of the audit committee.

McGann has been group chief executive of Smurfit Kappa since 2002 after initially joining the group in 1998 as chief financial officer.  Prior to this, he was chief executive of Aer Lingus and chief executive of Gilbeys of Ireland. He is also currently chairman of Aon Ireland and is a non-executive director of Green REIT.

Commenting on the appointment Paddy Power chairman Nigel Northridge said: “We are very pleased that Gary is joining us as a non-executive director. The depth of skills and experience he has acquired leading large international businesses will be of considerable value as Paddy Power continues to develop and grow.”
