Over 50 parties express interest in Nicole Farhi

Administrators for the collapsed fashion brand Nicole Farhi have said that they have received a high level of interest regarding a potential sale of the business.

Nicole Farhi entered administration last week after struggling against rising costs and the decline in spending on the high street.

Since then administrators Zolfo Copper have continued to trade the company while exploring possible options including a sale of all or parts of the business. Yesterday Zolfo Copper said that there had been over 50 expressions of interest received form trade and investment buyers from the UK and overseas.

Peter Saville, joint administrator and partner at Zolfo Cooper said: “As expected with such an iconic and deeply ingrained fashion brand, interest has been high. We are evaluating the many and varied expressions of interest and look forward to being able to announce a successful conclusion to the process in the coming weeks. We would like to thank management and all employees for their professionalism and hard work during this process.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Zolfo Copper did not name any interested parties although there have been reports that Sports Direct, JD Sports, Matalan and Edinburgh Woollen Mill have been eying the brand.

In addition to a flagship store on London’s Conduit Street, Nicole Farhi has five standalone stores, ten concessions in the UK and Ireland, an e-commerce website and a wholesale arm. The company employs 75 staff across its retail network, with an additional 44 staff at its headquarters in London.
