Oui Open merges with Storefront
Oui Open, the online marketplace for short-term retail space rental, has merged with its US counterpart Storefront.
The two companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which they will combine to create what they say will be the largest international marketplace for pop-up retail spaces with a presence in Europe, Asia and North America.
Together the companies have helped over 4,000 brands, including Target, Google, Samsung and Etsy, to open temporary retail stores.
Oui Open co-founder and chief executive Mohamed Haouache said: “We are extremely excited to work with Storefront and to expand the brand internationally. We have long sought a partner whose passion about the short-term retail market matches ours, and we have finally found that in Storefront.”
Going under the name of Storefront, the new group will offer greater access to spaces in leading retail cities around the world, including New York, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. The platform will power over 10,000 listings, which represent more than 30 million square feet of retail space.
“Expanding to Asia and Europe is a top priority for many of our US brands”, said Tristan Pollock, the original co-founder of Storefront. “The ability to use a single service to find premium retail spaces for pop-up stores in cities around the world is something many brands have requested. This new entity will make retail accessible across three continents and will democratize the concept of the pop-up store.”
