Online Golf eyes growth across Europe
Golfing products etailer Online Golf is looking to grow its share of the European golfing market after expanding its portfolio of European websites.
The company introduced a French language website in July to cater for France’s 430,000 registered golfers, and has also launched English language websites in Sweden and Denmark.
During the summer, the company also launched OnlineGolf.eu to cater for the remaining European markets. Online Golf said it has doubled its conversion rates since implementing its European expansion strategy with European sales now accounting for 40% of revenue.
The relaunch of Online Golf’s existing German website earlier this year has helped spark a 20% increase in web traffic from Germany. As Germany is the second largest golfing market in Europe, the company said its average sale values in the country are now 30% higher than in the UK.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Pat Foley, head of e-commerce at OnlineGolf.co.uk, said: “We are looking to increase our share in a growing and maturing European golf market. As its golfers become more passionate about the sport they are increasingly demanding access to quality clubs, equipment, clothing and merchandise at the best prices.
“The development of local language and currency websites, which benefit from improved functionality, further reinforces our commitment to expanding our presence in Europe and supporting the sport’s development.”
