Online footwear retailer Cloggs opens high street store in Shrewsbury
Online footwear retailer Cloggs has opened its first physical store since its acquisition by JD Sports earlier this year.
The move is part of plans to open 20 Cloggs standalone stores on the UK’s high streets over the next five years and follows the launch of a new look website in September in line with the retailer’s new strategy of targeting the family market.
Cloggs said it had chosen Shrewsbury as the location for the store due to its close match with the Cloggs customer profile. The shop stocks an array of brands including Hunter, Clarks, Barbour, Converse, Vans and Ted Baker.
Chris Thomas, managing director at Cloggs, said: “The Shrewsbury store is going to be a great addition to the business and marks an important step in our journey to create synergy between our online and offline offering.”
