One Stop to launch in-store beacon service
Tesco owned convenience chain One Stop has teamed up with magazine publisher IPC Media to launch beacon technology in 740 stores.
The new service means that customers can receive offers direct to their smartphone when they enter their local store.
Starting on 1 September and running to the end of the month, the IPC Media campaign will offer customers discounted copies of IPC magazines Chat, Pick Me Up, Woman and TV & Satellite Week.
To receive the offers, customers will need to download the One Stop or Appflare Redeem app, turn their notifications on and enable their Bluetooth connection when they enter the store. They will then be sent the discount codes direct to their smartphone through Beacon technology.
