One Stop celebrates 700th store

The Tesco-owned One Stop convenience chain has announced the opening of its 700th store.

The chain’s newest store in Letchworth in Hertfordshire is one of three stores that opened on the same day.

One Stop has already launched 30 new stores in the current financial year and has recently purchased 33 Spar stores from Alfred Jones which are due to be refurbished by January 2014.

One Stop property director Mark Williams said: “We’re delighted to have surpassed the 700 store mark, as we continue to invest in the business and bring One Stop’s range and value to local communities across England and Wales.

“We plan to open further stores in the coming months, but we’re always on the lookout for additional sites, so that we can introduce the One Stop shopping experience to even more communities.”
