One hundred million visitors to Liverpool One

Liverpool One reached a significant milestone last week when it welcomed its one hundred millionth visitor.

Recently voted Large Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Liverpool City Region Annual Tourism Awards 2012, Liverpool One has been attracting growing numbers of visitors since it opened in 2008.

Based on information gathered by footfall counters, the milestone visitor number was reached at around 1pm on Wednesday 15 August 2012. Liverpool One also revealed that its footfall figures have surpassed the national average by 4% for the year to date.

Chris Bliss, estates director at Liverpool One said: “We know that we attract a high volume of visitors to Liverpool One but to reach this milestone is fantastic example of our success in Liverpool and the Northwest. We are all extremely proud.”

Average weekly footfall through Liverpool One is around 500,000 with South John Street responsible for the highest percentage. Events including piano festival Tickle the Ivories and The Beach on Chavasse Park have contributed to visitor numbers in recent weeks.
