Ocado creates more than 1,000 UK jobs
Ocado has announced plans to recruit over 1,000 staff as the company looks to expand both in the UK and overseas.
The online grocer said the planned expansion had fuelled a need for staff across all areas of the company including its customer fulfilment centre in Dordon, in-house technology divisions in Hatfield and service delivery hubs in Wimbledon and Ruislip.
Ocado has created 800 vacancies for ‘personal shoppers’ who receive, pack and load customers’ orders at the Dordon facility. In addition 100 driver roles are being made available at the Ruislip and Wimbledon delivery hubs.
The retailer is also creating 100 tech jobs at its technology division in Hatfield. These will include roles for software engineers, tech professionals and technicians to drive innovation into robotics, machine learning, cloud development and big data as the company prepares for international expansion.
