Oasis to introduce iPad shopping in all stores
Fashion retailer Oasis is planning to introduce iPad shopping across all of its UK stores following a successful trial at its London flagship store.
The retailer launched tablet computers as a point of sale at the Argyll Street in London last year and now plans to roll out the technology to all 74 stores across the UK and Ireland.
Liz Evans, managing director of Oasis, said the iPads have provided “a more fun, intuitive and innovative way to shop” and in the first week of use iPad transactions accounted for 20% of sales.”
Evans added: “Customers now demand more from physical stores: more excitement, outstanding service and a more personalised experience driven by new technology. We are delighted to see that Argyll Street is leading the way in fulfilling this new kind of shopping experience.”
Never Miss a Retail Update! In the Argyll Street store, there are more iPads than fixed tills with customers using them to browse the latest online Lookbook and to pay for purchases. Store staff can also use them to access Oasis’ websites, check product availability and place online orders when stock is not available.
The Retail Bulletin’s In Store Engagement Conference will be held in London 10th July 2012. Full details will be available shortly. To register your interest please click here.
