Nordstrom appoints brothers as co-presidents
US department store chain Nordstrom has appointed brothers Blake Nordstrom, Pete Nordstrom and Erik Nordstrom as co-presidents.
The company said the three executives will retain their current roles and responsibilities and will continue to serve on the Nordstrom board of directors where they are working on long-term strategic plans for the company.
Enrique Hernandez, Jr., chairman of Nordstrom, said: “Blake, Pete, and Erik have supported the business as a team for many years, leading the executive team and company, and together have been involved in all major decisions. This shared leadership structure reinforces their approach to leading Nordstrom.”
While Blake Nordstrom is responsible for business operations, Pete Nordstrom oversees the merchandising and marketing function. Meanwhile, Erik Nordstrom is executive vice president of Nordstrom and president of stores.
Hernandez added: ”The co-presidents will continue to operate with clearly defined roles to deliver the company’s strategy as we focus on serving customers and optimizing shareholder value.”
Founded in 1901 as a shoe store in Seattle, Nordstrom now operates 303 stores in the US and Canada.
