Nisa to offer retail training for members

The Nisa symbol group has launched a new retail training academy for its member businesses.

The Retail Academy will offer a range of training programmes to help businesses improve performance and the capability of their teams.

Emma Brock, Nisa training manager, explained: “The benefits of having a team which is well trained are simple – it helps keep stores legal and shows due diligence, encourages high customer service levels, which will help to drive customer loyalty, and finally, well trained staff have a higher morale leading to increased productivity. All of this can have a positive impact on the stores profit.”

The academy’s initial training pack provides members with training and support guides on subjects such as food safety, fire safety, security, fireworks, health and safety and age restricted sales. The guides will then continue to build over the coming months to provide a fully comprehensive training programme for members’ teams.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Training is formed of three tiers: essential, experienced and expert. The essential and experienced tiers cover the legal, operational and behavioural skills needed for everyday work while the expert tier, or Management Academy, will provide training in retail management when it launches in early 2014.

Brock added: “The Nisa Retail Academy is an essential tool for our independent retail members to stay ahead of their competition and ensure they are staying legal and providing the best possible service to their customers. The academy is yet another way in which Nisa is going above and beyond to ensure the offer it provides its members is unrivalled by its competitors.”
