Nike to open first UK full-price retail park store in Chester

Sportswear giant Nike has chosen Chester as the location for its first full-price retail park store in the UK.

Hercules Unit Trust, the retail park fund advised by British Land and managed by Schroders, has announced that Nike will open a store at the city’s Broughton Shopping Park in October.

The deal follows recent lettings to Cineworld, Frankie & Benny’s, Pizza Express and Chiquito at a £13 million leisure extension under construction at the shopping park on an underutilised area of car park.

Edward Cree, senior asset manager for British Land, said: “We are continuing to actively evolve and reposition our shopping park portfolio. Nike is a fantastic addition to the park, will further broaden the offer at Broughton and adds another worldwide recognised brand to the Hercules portfolio.”

Broughton Shopping Park is a 25 unit scheme anchored by Tesco and BHS. Other retailers include Topshop, River Island, Next, Boots and Costa Coffee.
