Nicole Farhi appoints new CEO
Luxury fashion brand Nicole Farhi has appointed Martin Mason as its new chief executive.
Due to join the company on 1 April, Mason was most recently chief executive at Lulu Guinness after holding board positions at a number of other luxury brands including Mulberry, Pringle and Tanner Krolle.
Nicole Farhi went into administration in July last year after struggling against a decline in high street spending and rising costs. The business was subsequently bought by Maxine Hargreaves-Adams, the daughter of Matalan founder John Hargreaves, who also owns womenswear brand Fenn Wright Manson.
The sale included all six Nicole Farhi stores and nine concessions across the UK and Ireland, as well as the wholesale and e-commerce arms of the business.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Commenting on Mason’s appointment Hargreaves-Adams told Vogue: “I am delighted that Martin will be joining us as chief executive. Martin brings with him a wealth of luxury-goods experience and an ability to drive our plans for international expansion.”
Mason added: “I am very pleased to be joining Nicole Farhi; it is an iconic and much-loved British brand and an exceptional opportunity for growth. There is much work to do and I look forward to working with Maxine and all the management team.”
