Next sales boosted by warmer weather
29 April, 2015 | by Retail Bulletin
Next, the fashion and homewares retailer, has reported that sales in the first three months of its financial year were better than expected as trade was boosted by the launch of its new summer brochure and warmer weather.
Full price sales in the 13 weeks to 25 April rose by 3.2% of which 1.9% came from the opening of new space.
Total sales climbed by 4.1% as a result of a longer tail to the retailer’s winter end-of-season sale and a bigger mid-season sale in its directory.
Despite the uplift, Next said its profit guidance for the full year remains unchanged at between £785 million and £835 million.
