Next mulls rescue bid for The Body Shop

Next is understood to have approached administrators to The Body shop about a potential deal to buy parts of the business.

According to a report by Sky News, Next has been monitoring the skincare and cosmetics retailer for some time and its executives have now contacted FRP Advisory to express an interest in acquiring assets of the business as part of any sales process FRP may launch.

However, the publication said it had heard reports that FRP may not run an conventional auction for The Body Shop, which entered administration earlier this month. It added that one of its sources had said communication with Next had already stalled.

Next has acquired brands such as lifestyle brands FatFace, Cath Kidston, Jo Jo Maman Bebe, and Joules in recent years, as well as online furniture brand Made.com.
