New Nixon VP to launch brand’s first European stores in London and Paris

Nixon, the US watch and accessories brand, has appointed Philippe Gouzes as vice president of sales and general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Gouzes will lead Nixon’s growth in EMEA, including the opening of the brand’s first European stores in London and Paris. He will also be expanding Nixon’s sales and marketing presence in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the UK, as well as building new and existing distributor relationships across the region.

He will be based in Nixon’s main EMEA office in Hossegor in France and will report directly to Nixon chief executive Nick Stowe.

The new stores in London’s Carnaby Street and the Le Marais district of Paris are set to open in the autumn.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Commenting on the appointment Stowe said: “Philippe is the perfect executive to lead Nixon’s next phase of growth in EMEA. He brings deep European action sports experience and the ability to drive sales and build a brand in a complex multi-channel environment. He’s a great addition to Nixon’s executive team as we look to double our business and brand reach over the next three to five years.”

Most recently Gouzes was senior vice president of international business for the Burton snowboards brand, setting up distribution partnerships in South Korea, establishing new sales structures for Asia/Pacific and opening Burton’s first office in China. Prior to that, he spent six years as vice president sales, Europe for all Burton brands and the Channel Islands, and previously held senior positions at Rossignol.

Gouzes succeeds Nixon’s outgoing EMEA general manager Arnaud Gaillard, who is leaving Nixon to pursue other interests after six years with the brand.
