New Look sales boosted by mobile site

High street fashion retailer New Look has seen a year-on-year increase in mobile sales of over 500% and an increase in site visits of over 800% following the launch of its mobile site in April.

The company’s Q1 results for mobile sales showed that orders increased by over 60% and revenue by over 45% between April and July.

Dom McBrien, multi-channel director, New Look said: “We’ve seen some incredible results since going live with our mobile internet site in April, totally exceeding initial KPI’s.  Plus we have more plans in place over the coming months to ensure we are providing an outstanding multi-channel customer experience.”

New Look said the m-site’s developer Mobile Interactive Group had worked extensively on the usability of the site to reduce the user journey from enquiry to product to check-out, developing a ‘One Click’ purchase option for registered users.  Non registered shoppers are also able to browse the site and make one-off purchases.

McBrien continued: “We’ve utilised the latest technology to create a feature-rich mobile shopping experience that offers our customers an easy and convenient way to shop whenever they choose.  Features such as the fast ‘One Click’ purchasing and engaging browse, zoom and view functionality deliver a seamless and rewarding user experience, which since launch has seen the mobile conversion rate double.”

To find out more about mobile websites, attend The Retail Bulletin Mobile Retailing Summit 2011, sponsored by DigiPoS and supported by IMRG, on 27 September in London.

With a top-class speaker programme, this event is retailer-led which will stimulate interactive lively debate and is a must attend for those retailers who want to embrace mobile as an integral part of their multi-channel offering.

This one day summit will enable you to build a profitable mobile strategy and network with like-minded executives. Click here for full programme details.
