New Heights to open sixth store
Premium furniture retailer continues growth
August 13 2002
Expanding furniture retailer New Heights is to open its first UK store outside the South East.
The Nottingham store, which open on August 21, continues the mix of high quality solid wood and leather furniture offered by New Heights since the firm began trading in 1999.
The new store makes up the ground floor of the recently completed Ropewalk Court development, on a major route into Nottingham. The site is a ten-minute walk from the town centre.
Gareth Williams, managing director and co-founder, said: “We are extremely excited about the opening of this Nottingham store. We feel there is a complementary fit between the aspiring, affluent Nottingham community and our extensive choice of well made furniture. We targeted Nottingham as a prime location and we hope to see excellent results from this part of our UK roll-out programme here in the Midlands.”
Founded by Gareth Williams, Toby Ash and Richard Hepworth, who met at Oxford University in the early 1990s, New Heights aims to emulate the US market for cleanly designed, well made furniture at affordable prices. New Heights sources about 50 per cent of its furniture from the US, and has showrooms in North and South London, Kingston-Upon-Thames, Cambridge and Tunbridge Wells. It also publishes a colour catalogue and operates a website at www.new-heights.co.uk. By the end of 2004, the company aims to have between 12 and 16 stores.
