Retail Stores appoints ex-Habitat marketeer
October 2 2002
Retail Stores, owner of Landmark London department store Liberty, has announced the appointment of Iain Renwick as chief executive.
Renwick, who takes up his post in November, currently works for creative agency Imagination Limited, and previously worked in a variety of roles at Storehouse, where as marketing director and company secretary of Habitat he was part of the team that took the business into profit and oversaw the sale to Ikea.
He said: “Liberty is now well placed to become London’s leading destination, design-led store. I am looking forward to working with the existing Liberty team to further develop the Liberty brand and enable it to fulfil its global potential.”
Renwick replaces Fiona Harrison, who resigned as chief executive due to ill health in July.
Liberty has also appointed Lucille Lewin as creative director. Lewin was co-founder of the Whistles fashion group.
