Net-a-Porter appoints Hugh Fahy as CIO
Online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter has appointed former Betfair executive Hugh Fahy as group chief information officer.
With over 25 years’ experience in service development, deployment and operations, Fahy was previously director of development at Betfair where he led a £25 million programme to rebuild the company’s 24/7 trading platform and customer system.
In his new role, Fahy will lead Net-a-Porter’s technology function across its three global brands of Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet. This will include overseeing and improving IT operations across e-commerce, mobile, deliveries and logistics, as well championing the wider use of the Agile software development approach throughout the business.
Fahy said: “I am excited to have joined such a fast-growing, vibrant organisation, with the mentality of a start-up and the fire power of a global market leader. From day one, innovation has been at the core of everything The Net-a-Porter group does, across technology, retail and publishing. My vision is to build on this approach, ‘doing’ IT the 21st century way, by being unafraid to experiment and excel operationally.”
Founded in 2000, The Net-a-Porter Group now employs 2,500 people based across London, New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
