Nespresso launches Bluewater boutique

Nespresso has opened a permanent boutique at Bluewater following the success of a pop-up store that opened in the summer.

The 2,700 square foot store is the first of its kind in the South East for Nespresso Club members.

Situated on Bluewater’s Upper Guildhall, adjacent to Apple, White Stuff and The White Company, it is the seventh Nespresso boutique to be opened in the UK and the first globally to trial a newly designed customer shopping experience.

Created by an in-house team, the design of the store aims to eliminate the barriers between the customer and the Nespresso Coffee specialists by using mobile technology and increased open spaces to encourage greater interaction.

Coffee specialists are equipped with a tablet which allows them to spend more time with customers and take their order on the go without the customer having to queue. The order is then sent to the back office and the purchases are ready for the customer to collect within seconds at a small window in the store’s coffee wall.

Francisco Nogueira, Nespresso UK managing director, explained: “We’re excited to introduce our innovative boutique concept in a new and popular location. Our boutiques are a fantastic way for our Club Members to experience the full Nespresso brand, tasting new flavours and learning from our Coffee Specialists about our 23 Grands Crus and their origins. The introduction of this new customer concept will ensure our customers have even more time to interact with our experts and enjoy a seamless experience.”

Nespresso Club members can return their used capsules at the boutique so that they can be recycled as part of Nespresso’s sustainability programme, The Positive Cup. The Bluewater boutique will also be a pick up point for online orders where shoppers able to collect their purchases just two hours after ordering.

Robert Goodman, Bluewater’s general manager, added: “Nespresso’s choice of Bluewater to introduce a new store concept that will be rolled out globally is another very strong endorsement of our industry leading position. They add to our line-up of the very best mix of leading international brands and statement stores anywhere in the UK outside London, joining the likes of Breitling, Jo Malone, Aveda and Montblanc in creating something very special at Bluewater.”
