MySale acquires Cocosa
Australian flash sales company MySale has acquired UK flash sales site Cocosa as it prepares to launch in the UK.
MySale, which has over 10 million members, is currently implementing an international expansion plan which includes launching in the US and UK later this year. The company is also planning to move its headquarters from Sydney to London and is understood to be considering a stock market flotation.
Jamie Jackson, founder and chairman of MySale, told the FT: “The acquisition of Cocosa.com gives us a fabulous foundation to build on as we finalise our plans for our UK launch.”
A spokesman for Cocosa’s parent company added: “The online space is fast-paced and competition is increasing, so now is a great time to introduce Cocosa.com’s loyal customers to a wonderful opportunity to benefit from MySale’s global infrastructure and scale across all of markets.”
Arcadia Group owner Sir Philip Green has recently acquired a 25% stake in MySale to mark his first move into pure online retail. Arcadia’s current retail brands include high street stalwarts Topshop, BHS, Dororthy Perkins, Wallis, Burton, Evans and Miss Selfridge.
