MyOptique to be acquired by Essilor International
MyOptique, the online prescription glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses retail business, has entered into an agreement to be acquired by ophthalmic optics specialist Essilor International.
Following the transaction, the MyOptique management team will remain in place and will use Essilor International’s capabilities to grow its position in Europe.
With annual revenues of £57 million, MyOptique is a privately held, venture capital backed business. Shareholders include Acton Capital Partners, Beringea, Cipio Partners, Index Ventures, Korys and Highland Capital Europe.
The group operates six online retail brands including Glasses Direct, Sunglasses Shop, LensOn, Lensbest, Eyewearbrands and Netzoptiker.
