Retailer bids for Woolworths-owned chain
Music Zone aims to double its size by acquiring the MVC chain being sold by Woolworths.
Stver Oliver, managing director of Manchester-based Music Zone, has confirmed reports that the company is in discussions with Woolworths over an acquisition of MVC.
Woolworths announced in March that it was putting 67 MVC stores up for sale, after closing the 14 worst-performing stores.
Music Zone currently operates 54 stores across the UK. The addition of the MVC stores would put it in a top three position behind HMV and Virgin.
