Multi-channel is the star for John Lewis
Most branches also up on last year
For the first four days of this week’s trade so far (to end of Wednesday 8 December), sales are up 8% on last year.
David Barford, Director Selling Operations for John Lewis, said: ” Yet again this week the strength of our multichannel offer is proving popular with customers enabling them to choose the best and most convenient option for them. Most of our branches are delivering growth on last year and johnlewis.com is currently 52% ahead of last year. We have seen a more balanced performance this week across all three directorates – fashion, home and EHT – as customers are now able to make that shopping trip that last week’s weather made a lot harder. However, we are aware that adverse weather conditions are still affecting some parts of the country.”
