M&S head of menswear to become managing director at BHS
Marks & Spencer is to suffer another departure from its senior executive team when head of menswear Richard Price leaves the company to join the department store chain BHS.
Price has been appointed as managing director of BHS, which is part of the Arcadia Group owned by Sir Philip Green. He will join BHS in the autumn after seven years at M&S.
A spokesperson for M&S said in a statement: “Richard is a talented individual and he has done a great job in menswear.
“His new role as managing director presents a unique and challenging opportunity to take on a wider remit including all trading departments as well as stores, ecommerce and property. We understand why Richard would want to pursue this and he leaves with our thanks and very best wishes for the future.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Price’s departure from M&S follows the exit of several other senior executives this year including senior general merchandise director Andrew Skinner, director of new channels Susan Aubrey-Cound, and brand director Alison Jones.
M&S said Price’s successor was yet to be appointed.
