M&S gives staff extra day’s holiday for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Marks & Spencer is to give thousands of staff members an extra day’s leave to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The move will see over 50,000 workers being offered an additional day’s holiday over the four-day bank holiday weekend that celebrates the occasion in June.

The vast majority of Marks & Spencer’s stores will be remaining open over the entire weekend which starts on 2 June. However, staff working in stores, distribution centres and customer service will be able to take an extra day’s leave across any of the four days.

Helen Milford, M&S stores director, said: “Everyone at M&S is looking forward to celebrating this historic national occasion in just a few months’ time.

“To help our colleagues celebrate, were pleased to be giving them an additional day off over the Jubilee Weekend. We hope they enjoy the celebrations.”
