Mr Electric wins Home Service award

Electric Contractor of the Year title for franchise business
Service store franchise Mr Electric UK has been named Electric Contractor of the Year at the Home Service Awards 2004.

The Award, co-sponsored by AXA, was presented to Clive Houlston, managing director of Mr Electric in the UK, by Richard Harpin, chief executive of Home Serve. Clive accepted the Award on behalf of the network of 44 franchisees.
Also in attendance was Gary Clark of Mr Electric Kent Central. Gary was singled out by ‘Home Hotline’ as being among the top performing electrical contractors in the UK.
Four of the top six places in the ‘Home Serve’ League are held by Mr Electric franchisees. Houlston said: “We have worked with our franchisees to create new standards of service delivery to the customer and this award recognises that the system works.”
Mr. Electric was originally formed in the USA in 1991 and launched in the UK in 1998. There are currently 44 outlets across the country. The Mr. Electric network also operates in Australia and Canada and master licences are agreed in Malaysia and Portugal.
