Mothercare launches early payment initiative for suppliers

Mothercare has launched a new initiative where retailers can request early payment in exchange for offering the retailer a discount on goods.

The retailer said it will offer suppliers a “voluntary and flexible” solution to request early payment of their invoices. It added that suppliers will have complete control over if and when they choose to participate in the programme, and also over the rate of discount they wish to offer in exchange for early payment.

Mothercare is partnering with C2FO, the world’s market for working capital, to facilitate the accelerated payments.

“Investing in the long term health of our supply chain, complements one of the key pillars in Mothercare’s six pillar strategy: running a lean organisation while investing for the future,” said Mothercare’s group product director, Karl Doyle.
