Mothercare appoints chief financial officer
Mothercare has appointed a new chief financial officer to succeed Richard Smothers when he leaves the business in December.
Glyn Hughes, currently the company’s interim finance director, has been appointed as chief financial officer designate.
Following a handover period, Hughes will become chief financial officer and executive director on 1 December.
Hughes has recently returned from 10 years in Asia where he held both chief executive and chief financial officer responsibilities in the Dairy Farm Group. Prior to that, he worked with Kingfisher, Tesco and KPMG.
Mark Newton-Jones, Mothercare chief executive, said “I am delighted that Glyn is joining Mothercare as our chief financial officer. Glyn’s extensive international retail knowledge and finance experience will be a huge support to the team and me as our business goes through the next phase of its transition.”
