Morrisons marketing director stands down
Morrisons has announced that Richard Lancaster, its corporate marketing and operations director, is to leave the business. The news comes just seven months after he was promoted to the role.
The supermarket said Lancaster was stepping down to “pursue an opportunity outside of Morrisons”. Lancaster was promoted from marketing director to take on an expanded marketing and operations role last September.
Morrisons said that Lancaster will be succeeded by Nick Collard, currently commercial director for ambient grocery, who will take up his new role on 16 April.
Collard will be responsible for marketing and trade planning, format, merchandising and space, pricing and promotions, customer service and insight. He will report into the supermarket’s commercial director Richard Hodgson.
Never Miss a Retail Update!HR director Norman Pickavance said: “We are delighted Nick is moving into the marketing and operations director role. He has a great track record in his first 15 months at Morrisons and is a highly rated marketeer. He’s one of our rising stars.”
The supermarket also announced that Lisa Miao will move to the role of commercial director of ambient and frozen while Jamie Winter will take on a similar role for chilled food. It also said that all non-food business areas will be brought together under current non-food commercial director Mike Snell.
