FSA confirms more food withdrawals
The Food Standards Agency has confirmed that 43 more products have been withdrawn from the food chain as a result of Sudan I contamination, bringing the total to 580.

The latest products to have been found to contain the banned dye, supplied by Premier Foods after colouring chilli powder used in a batch of Worcestershire sauce, include frozen foods and sauces, with products made for Morrisons/Safeway, Iceland, and pub group Spirit among those affected.
Sudan I is banned in food in the UK and across the EU because it can contribute to an increased risk of cancer. The FSA said it is working with the industry and local authorities to ensure that any remaining affected foods are removed from sale.
The full list of affected products is at http://www.food.gov.uk/safereating/sudani/sudanlistno
