Moonpig owner names new chief executive
PhotoBox, the owner of the Moonpig online greeting card retailer, has appointed eBay Marketplaces executive Jody Ford as its new chief executive.
Due to join the business in July, Ford will succeed Stan Laurent who has decided to stand down after 10 years at the helm.
In his new role, Ford will be responsible for consolidating group’s foothold in the personalisation market, entering new territories and broadening its product offering, particularly for mobile platforms.
He has spent the last ten years working in senior roles at eBay, most recently leading global growth at eBay Marketplaces. He also led the development and implementation of the company’s worldwide mobile business strategy and was in charge of a number of eBay’s European businesses including Fashion and Motors.
Prior to eBay, Ford worked across Europe at a variety of technology and mobile companies while working with Orange and as a consultant at McKinsey.
Doug McCallum, chairman of PhotoBox Group, said: “Jody brings with him a wealth of market leading knowledge and expertise from his time at eBay, not least launching the hugely successful international multi-platform personalisation offering. His leadership credentials, coupled with his passion, global outlook and genuine appreciation for the PhotoBox culture we know and love, make him a great fit to lead us forward.”
Currently living in California, Ford will move to the UK on taking up his new role.
