Mint Velvet embarks on store expansion programme

Fashion retailer Mint Velvet is embarking on a store expansion programme as it aims to almost triple the number of standalone stores it operates by 2015.

The company, which also has 83 concessions, is aiming to grow its stores in the UK to between 20 and 30 over the next three years from the current nine.

Mint Velvet launched its most recent standalone store in Guildford last week, and will open two further outlets in Harrogate and Farnham this spring. It is also looking to open more outlets by the end of 2012 although the locations are yet to be confirmed.

Stuart Grant, operations director at Mint Velvet said: “We wouldn’t rule out opening more concessions, but our main focus is on standalone stores.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Mint Velvet was founded in 2009 by Clarks chairman Peter Davies and the team behind the Principles womenswear chain.

The company launched a click-and-collect service last week and is also looking to offer an international delivery service through its UK website by the end of the year.
