Michael Kors to open state-of-the-art distribution centre in Europe
Luxury fashion brand Michael Kors is to open a new state-of-the-art distribution centre in Europe.
Situated in Trade Port North in Venlo in the Netherlands, the 1,000,000-square-foot facility will service all of the company’s European and Middle Eastern retail, wholesale and, eventually, e-commerce needs.
With construction due to begin next month, the centre will be the largest distribution facility in Venlon and has been designed to accommodate Michael Kors’ projected growth for the next 10 years.
The building will feature a range of environmentally friendly features including LED interior lighting and a solar-panel roof. The new facility is expected to create around 400 jobs in the region going forward.
John Idol, Micheal Kors chairman and chief executive, said: “The construction of a new, innovative distribution centre is an important and exciting step in the evolution of Michael Kors. The scale and sophistication of the facility reflect our commitment to substantial growth across all channels of distribution in both Europe and the Middle East.”
