Strong Easter trading boosts furniture retailer
May 15 2003
UK furniture retailer MFI has seen customer orders increase by 15 per cent in the first 19 weeks of its new financial year.
On a same store basis, orders are up 9 per cent, said chairman Ian Peacock in a statement to shareholders at the annual meeting.
Peacock said: “Following a strong Winter sale, orders for the following five weeks were adversely affected by the impact of the conflict in Iraq on store footfall. However we have seen a return to previous levels of activity over the Easter promotional period.”
